We finally finalized our adoption! Oh what a long awaited for day. Our court date was set for Monday, May 17th, 2010 at 8AM. We arrived and sat down with our attorney to discuss MORE paperwork and then finally it was time. Brett and I had been waiting for this day for 6 years, 3 months, & 23 days.

I didn't really cry at all in court. I thought I would but no. I was just too happy to cry. I felt a huge sense of relief also. Now if anything happened to Brett or I, Sawyer would be raised by whomever we choose instead of a stranger. Once we get his birth certificate we can legally change is name and get him a social security number. It was nice to also have my family their to show support also and share in this moment with us.
